Armored Vehicles & Heavy Equipment

One of the factories owned by the General Authority for Military Industries, established on (01/12/1410 AH), was officially opened by the Minister of Defense, His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz (may God have mercy on him), in 1417 AH (1997 AD). It specializes in the design and manufacture of armored military vehicles, the rehabilitation, development, upgrading, rebuilding, and arming of armored vehicles, and the provision of engineering solutions for the integration of modern military systems on armored vehicles for all military sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The technical departments and sections carry out all the necessary activities to produce a complete product.

The most important of these are:

• First: Design and Development Department: It employs a group of highly qualified engineers and experts. This department carries out many tasks in its field, including: collecting information and following up on developments in the field of specialization, in addition to studying the requirements of various sectors and what the circumstances require. It compiles this information and comes up with new ideas, develops existing ideas, or solves specific problems. It also conducts experiments and builds prototypes.
• Second: Technology Section: One of the tasks of this section is to develop appropriate manufacturing methods and determine the machines and equipment necessary for production. In addition to being a point of contact between production on the one hand and design and development on the other. This section also develops solutions to problems that arise during and after production in cooperation with other sections.
• Third: Production Planning and Control Department: It develops overall and detailed production plans and follows up on their implementation until the product is completed and provides feedback to the engineering departments. The engineers in the previous departments work according to international standards using the latest production monitoring programs. This department also carries out production work in the factory's various workshops, the most important of which are:

1. Machining Workshops: Equipped with modern CNC machines that can perform many tasks such as cutting spare parts and other precision parts. They have a high production capacity and are operated by a staff with extensive experience and technical knowledge.
2. Forming Workshops: These workshops are equipped with multiple machines such as bending, cutting, and pressing machines, and through these workshops, many works related to metal forming can be implemented.
3. Welding Workshops: The welding workshops are equipped with high-quality welding fixtures, as well as advanced welding machines operated by skilled welders with experience in all types of welding.
4. Electrical and Electronics Workshop: This workshop is equipped to carry out many works related to electricity and electronics, such as wiring harnesses, control panels, electrical circuits, etc.

• Fourth: Quality Department: This department employs a group of qualified engineers and technicians, and this department has been equipped with the necessary machines and equipment to ensure the highest levels of quality. Among the modern machines in this section are 3D measuring machines, which are very useful in reverse engineering.
